The Canadian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright returns to the Girona Auditorium, this time, to offer a unique concert. Accompanied by the GIO Symphonia, he will perform a repertoire formed by his vast array of influences and musical interests, which includes American standards like “How Deep is the Ocean” by Irving Berlin, “Who By Fire” by his fellow Canadian Leonard Cohen, and original songs like “Westside Waltz”. Additionally, the program will include “Excursion to Venise”, written by his mother Kate McGarrigle and his aunt Anna McGarrigle. These arrangements were last performed live in 2023, when Rufus Wainwright toured with The Amsterdam Sinfonietta.
